The highly-rated defense of the Nashville Predators will be going on the road on Saturday to face the San Jose Sharks, who have one of the top 5 power plays. The Predators were able to sweep their three-game regular season series against the Sharks.

In their game against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday, the Predators scored three first-period goals and rolled to a 5-1 road win. Left wing James Neal was their top player in that win by scoring one goal and assisting on another.

Nashville's defense has been one of the best in the league so far this season by only giving up 1.9 goals per game. Center Filip Forsberg has had a great start to the year by scoring 12 goals and assisting on 17 others. Netminder Pekka Rinne has won 19 of his 25 starts this season and has an excellent 1.78 GAA for the Preds.

On Thursday night, the Sharks won their second game in a row when they defeated the Minnesota Wild 2-1 at home. They went 1-for-3 on the power play in that win and ended up outshooting the Wild 30-19.

So far this season, the Sharks have had one of the best power plays in the Eastern Conference by scoring on 24.5 percent of their opportunities with the extra man. Goalie Antti Niemi has an 11-7-3 record this season with one shutout, a 2.53 GAA and a .915 save percentage.
