The Chicago Blackhawks beat the Nashville Predators the last time these two teams met on December 17th. The Predators were coming off a three game winning streak coming into that game, but Chicago won the game 3-1. The game's first goal was scored by Duncan Keith of the Blackhawks just a minute and thirty seconds into the game.

Patrick Kane and Nick Leady also had goals for the Blackhawks. Chicago did not have more shots on goal than the Nashville Predators, but the goalie for Nashville, Carter Hutton, could not stop the Blackhawks offense. Chicago's goalie, Antti Raanta, only allowed one goal and had twenty seven saves on the night. Carter Hutton was on a three game winning streak before the game against the Blackhawks. Hutton also played for Chicago before signing with the Predators this off season.

After this game the Predators went on to lose their next five games. Currently the Blackhawks sit at second place in their division just two points behind the St. Louis Blues. Every win will count for them down the stretch to try and steal the number one spot in the division. The Predators are a full thirty points behind the Blues and have little chance and make a playoff push.
