Friday night, the Nashville Predators will continue a swing through Canada as they take on the Calgary Flames.
The Nashville Predators will come into this one after a solid 4 -1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. The Nashville win was a good comeback from their first loss last Saturday. After the teams played to a scoreless tie in the 1st, the Predators quickly took control in the 2nd period. Nashville scored 2 goals to take the lead going into the 3rd. The Predators went up 3 -0 before the Oilers scored their first goal. The final goal was just a validation of the Predators’ ability to shake off the loss. The Flames will have to hope that the trip from Edmonton to Calgary could slow the Predators down. But if Nashville wants to start another win streak, Calgary might be helpless to stop them.
The Calgary Flames will look to rebound after their Tuesday night 2 -1 shootout loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Goals were tough to come by in that game as neither team could find a way to light the lamp in the 1st period. After Calgary opened the scoring early in the 2nd, Montreal tied the game late in the period. And the game stayed tied through the 3rd period and the overtime period. Montreal scored right out of the gate in the shootout and that was all it took to get the win. Calgary outshot Montreal 38 to 19 but couldn’t capitalize on their opportunities. They also went 0 for 7 on the power play. The Flames might not get as many opportunities against the Predators and will need to capitalize on each and every scoring chance they get.
