The Nashville Predators will be visiting the Boston Bruins on Tuesday night in a game between two of the better defensive teams in the league.

The Predators and the Bruins played each other for the first time just last week, when the Preds pulled off a 3-2 home win in the shootout. Nashville scored on one of their four power play chances in that win and outshot the Bruins 40-35.

Predators’ veteran center Mike Ribeiro has just 12 points in 29 games against the Bruins in his career, while defenseman Shea Weber has four goals and three assists in his nine career games against them. Goalie Pekka Rinne has done well in his four starts against Boston, going 3-0-1 with a .928 save percentage and a 2.32 GAA.

On Sunday night, the Bruins scored a game-tying goal late in the third period and then went on to beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 in the shootout at home. Defenseman Dougie Hamilton was solid in that win, scoring two of the goals and assisting on another.

The Bruins have barely given up over 2.5 goals per game this season, but they are also scoring less than 2.5 goals per game. Goalie Tuukka Rask is now 13-10-3 on the year with one shutout, a 2.52 GAA and a .913 save percentage. Left wing Brad Marchand and right wing Reilly Smith are tied for the team lead in goals with eight.
