The Montreal Canadiens will try to win their fourth game in a row to open the season when they go up against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night. The Lightning beat the Canadiens in three out of their four meetings last season.

Montreal scored three third-period goals against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday to force overtime and eventually won 4-3 in the shootout. Ray Emery had a rough start to the game, but he finished strong and had a .921 save percentage in the win.

Canadiens center Tomas Plekanec currently leads the league in goals with four and he is second in points with five. Alex Galchenyuk has a goal, two assists and a plus-four through three games. Netminder Carey Price is 2-0-0 this season despite having a high .898 save percentage and a 2.90 GAA.

On Saturday, Tampa Bay hosted the Ottawa Senators and ended up losing 3-2 in the shootout. The Lightning did put 40 shots on net in that loss and they scored on one of their three power-play opportunities.

Defenseman Victor Hedman has had a good start to the season for the Lightning by scoring two goals and assisting another through two games. Center Valtteri Filppula leads Tampa Bay with three assists. Goalie Ben Bishop has a win and an overtime loss this season and has a .927 save percentage with a solid 1.90 GAA.
