The Montreal Canadiens will play their third game in four days when they face the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night. Philadelphia and Montreal played each other three times last year, with the Flyers winning two of those games.

Montreal moved to 2-0 on the year after pulling off a 2-1 shootout win over the Washington Capitals on Thursday night. They won the game despite being outshot 30-24 and failing to convert any of their five power-play opportunities.

Backup goalie Dustin Tokarski was the star for the Canadiens in that win over Washington by stopping 29 of the 30 shots he faced. Their lone goal in the game was made by center Tomas Plekanec. Right wing Alex Galchenyuk and defenseman Tom Gilbert each had an assist in the win.

Against the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, Philadelphia gave up three third-period goals and ended up losing 6-4. The Flyers lost even though they put more shots on goal and they were also able to convert two of their five power-play chances.

Through two games, Flyers right wing Wayne Simmonds leads the team with two goals and three points. Matt Read, Mark Streit and Jakub Voracek have two assists apiece on the season so far, while Claude Giroux is a minus-5 already. Goalie Steve Mason has struggled through the team's first two games and is 0-2-0 with a .879 save percentage.
