On Tuesday night, the Montreal Canadiens will be facing the Florida Panthers in a game that will feature two of the better defenses in the league.

The Canadiens and the Panthers had a competitive regular season series last year, as both teams were able to pick up two wins. Each team had a home and an away win in that series, and they combined to score eight goals apiece.

Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban has one goal and seven assists in his 14 games against the Panthers, while left wing Max Pacioretty has notched two goals and nine assists in 17 games against them. Goalie Carey Price has made 12 starts against Florida in his career, going 7-4-1 with two shutouts, a 1.74 GAA and a .945 save percentage against them.

The Panthers have now won four of their last five games after beating the Toronto Maple Leafs 6-4 on Sunday. They had one of their best periods of the season in that game when they scored four third-period goals to pull off the comeback win.

Through 33 games this year, the Panthers are near the bottom of the league in both scoring and power play percentage, but their defense is only giving up around 2.5 goals per game. Center Nick Bjugstad currently leads the team in points with 20 by notching 12 goals and eight assists this season.
