The Montreal Canadiens will attempt to end the three-game winning streak of the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. These two teams played each other twice last year with both teams picking up a road win.

After losing their first four games of the season, the Oilers have now won three in a row after beating the Carolina Hurricanes 6-3 at home on Friday night. Their top player that night was right wing Jordan Eberle, who has two goals and an assist.

Edmonton is averaging 2.9 goals per game, but their defense has given up a league-worst 3.9 goals per game. Through eight games, Taylor Hall has four goals and a team-leading seven points for Oilers, while Eberle now has two goals and four assists. Goaltender Ben Scrivens has a 3-30 record through seven starts with a 3.31 GAA and an .882 save percentage.
