Sunday night, the Montreal Canadiens will make their way to the Joe Louis Arena to face the Detroit Red Wings.

The Montreal Canadiens will play this game after having hosted the Philadelphia Flyers at the Bell Centre on Saturday night. The trip from Montreal to Detroit is not a particularly long one but it won't be welcome after having played a game the previous night. In their last few games, the Canadiens have been on a tear and the Red Wings will have to hope that the flight into Detroit isn't a pleasant one. If the Eastern Conference leading Canadiens come into Detroit ready to battle, the Red Wings will have a hard time containing them.

The Detroit Red Wings might not be too afraid of the Canadiens considering the way that they dealt with the Chicago Blackhawks on Friday night. Detroit looked sharp in the 4 - 1 win. Early into the 1^st period, Luke Glendening put Detroit up 1 - 0 but the lead didn't hold long. The Blackhawks tied it up to close out the 1^st period but they wouldn't be able to score another goal. Detroit added 2 goals in the 2^nd and a final one in the 3^rd as the defense shut down Chicago. The Red Wings outshot the Blackhawks 37 to 26 but Chicago went 1 for 4 on the power play while Detroit was 0 for 3 with the man advantage. Montreal's penalty killing unit is pretty good and Detroit might not be able get through them.
