The Montreal Canadians last played the Buffalo Sabers on December 7th.  The Canadians won the game 3-2.  This was the Canadians fifth straight win and the game was not ever as close as the final score would make it seem.  Neither team scored in the first period, but Montreal came out shooting in the second with three goals scored. 

The Canadians and the Sabers each scored within the first ten minutes of the second period and then Montreal would go on to score two more goals within thirty seconds of each other.  The Sabers managed to score four minutes into the third, but that was the last goal Buffalo would score that night.  Each team’s defense played well and neither team had over twenty five shots on goal.  Montreal only managed nineteen shots on goal, but Ryan Miller of the Sabres allowed three to get past him.

The Canadians currently are ranked fourth in their division and are twenty points back from their division leader Boston.  The Sabers are ranked last in the division and have the lowest points total in the NHL with only forty six points.  The Buffalo Sabers have had a tough time getting any wins at all this season and are currently 19-39-8.
