Tuukka Rask had a fantastic game the last time the Montreal Canadiens and Boston Bruins faced off, which resulted in a 4-1 Boston win. Boston showed why they are the top seed in the East by scoring three goals in the second period after fighting off the Canadiens' early attacks.

While the score may look lopsided, it was actually the Canadiens who were the better team early on in the game. It took a couple of brilliant saves from Rask on Montreal breakaways to keep the score level after one. After that, though, it was all Boston.

After Montreal's Jarred Tinordi lost the puck off a faceoff, Boston center Carl Soderberg scored easily early in the second period. Patrice Bergeron followed up that goal with a counter-attack score in the middle of the period. Milan Lucic scored the third for Boston in the period by making a simple five-hole shot that got by Peter Budaj. Just 23 seconds into the third period, Zdeno Chara rebounded his own shot to give the Bruins a 4-1 lead. Two minutes later, David Desharnais would score the Canadiens' lone goal of the game.

The Bruins' offense woke up in the second period, but the game could have gone very differently had Rask not put on a show early in the game. The Boston goalie certainly didn't look like a net-minder who had lost 12 of his past 14 games against Montreal in this one.
