Saturday night the Montreal Canadiens will take on the Boston Bruins at the TD Garden in Boston.

The Montreal Canadiens have been one of the NHL’s top teams this season and that reputation was put on display in their last game as they beat the St. Louis Blues 4 - 1.   St. Louis got to the back of the net first and took the early 1 -0 lead in the 1st period but they wouldn’t be able to light the lamp again for the rest of the game.  The Canadiens opened up their scoring early in the 2nd period with a Dale Weise goal that tied things up and they didn’t stop from there.  Max Pacioretty scored his 9th and 10 goals to make it a 3 -1 game early in the 3rd and a late goal by Lars Eller sealed the win for Montreal.    Montreal is 7 -3 in their last 10 games and will look to continue their run in Boston, but the Bruins are playing well too.

The Boston Bruins took a 2 - 0 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night.  Since they have been without team leader and star defenseman Zdeno Chara, the Bruins have tightened up their defense better than many might have expected.  The Blues had no answer for the Bruins as Boston took the lead early in the 1st thanks to a Patrice Bergeron goal.  Torey Krug made it a 2 -0 game in the 2nd and the Bruins used defense and a big night from goalie Tuukka Rask to seal the win.  Rask got his first shutout of the season and will need to be at the top of his game against a solid Canadiens team.  But Boston is also 7 -3 in their last 10 games and will look to upset Montreal.
