On Monday night, the Minnesota Wild will be playing their second straight game against the Winnipeg Jets. The Wild are just 7-9-0 on the road this year, while the Jets have gone 8-6-3 on their home ice.

On Saturday, the Jets scored a late third-period goal to send their game against the Wild into overtime and ended up picking up a 4-3 win in the extra period. Neither team had more than 25 shots on goal in that game and they combined to go 1-for-8 on their power play opportunities.

In that game on Saturday, Jets left wing Andrew Ladd received top star honors by notching a goal and an assist in the win. Wild right wing Jason Pominville played well in the losing effort, also coming away with a goal and an assist.

Through 33 games this year, the Wild are giving up nearly three goals per game and they are near the bottom of the league in power play percentage. Their top player has been veteran winger Zach Parise, who now has 13 goals and 14 assists on the season. Goalie Darcy Kuemper has an 11-10-0 record with three shutouts and a 2.64 GAA.

So far this season, the Jets have barely been able to score over 2.5 goals per game against their opponents, but they also have one of the best defenses in the league. Netminder Ondrej Pavelec is now 10-8-5 on the year with one shutout, a .913 save percentage and a 2.34 GAA.
