In a game between two pretty evenly-matched teams, the Minnesota Wild will be facing off against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. In their first game against each other this year, the Wild were able to come away with a 4-3 shootout win over the Sharks.

In their game against the New York Islanders on Tuesday, the Wild were able to score four goal in the third period to complete a 5-4 comeback victory. They won 44 of the 64 faceoffs in that game while also finishing with a 30-19 shooting advantage.

The Wild have been able to score nearly three goals per game this season while only giving up 2.5 goals per game. Left wing Zach Parise has scored 10 goals in his 21 games and currently leads the team in points with 22. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper has a 11-8-0 record this season with three shutouts and a 2.47 GAA.

The Sharks have now won five of their last six games after defeating the Edmonton Oilers 5-2 at home on Tuesday night. Center Joe Pavelski was their top offensive contributor in that win by scoring two of their five goals.

In 30 games, the Sharks have one of the top five power plays in the league by scoring on 24.2 percent of their chances with the extra man. Netminder Antti Niemi has been able to win 11 of his 21 starts this season and has a .915 save percentage.
