Saturday afternoon, the Minnesota Wild will make a stop at the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Stars.

The Minnesota Wild jumped out to a fast start in their Thursday night game against the Buffalo Sabres and they rode that hot start to a 6 – 3 win.   Minnesota hadn’t been lighting the lamp too regularly in their last few games but they more than made up for it Thursday night.  After Buffalo took the lead just seconds into the game, Minnesota responded with 2 goals in 7 seconds.  Buffalo answered seconds later to tie things up but Minnesota closed out the period with 2 more goals to take a 4 – 2 lead going into the 2nd.  Minnesota scored the only goal of the 2nd and brushed aside a Buffalo goal in the 3rd with one of their own.  The win ended a 4 game slide for the Wild and showed that they have the ability to score.  They also finally got some production on the power play as they went 2 of 4 when they had the advantage. 

The Dallas Stars turned in an impressive performance Thursday night and came away with a 2 -0 win over the Los Angeles Kings.  The Stars found a way to keep the defending Stanley Cup champions off balance the entire night.  Dallas got the lead late in the 1st period and added a goal in the 2nd to secure the win.  The Stars went 0 for 4 on the power play but they held the Kings scoreless on their 3 power play opportunities.  Dallas notched their 2nd straight win and they will try to extend the streak against a Minnesota team looking to build a win streak of their own.
