In Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals on Friday night, the Minnesota Wild were able to tie their series with the Chicago Blackhawks at 2-2 by beating them 4-2 on home ice. The Wild were able put 31 shots on net in the game and held the Blackhawks to just 20.

Justin Fontaine scored the game's first goal seven minutes into the first period to put the Wild on top, but the Blackhawks would answer through a Patrick Sharp tally to tie it up late in the period.

Four minutes into the second period, the Wild would retake the lead thanks to Jason Pominville's second goal of the playoffs. Chicago would tie it up again three minutes later through a Michal Handzus goal, but less than a minute later Nino Niederreiter made it 3-2 off of assists by Charlie Coyle and Jared Spurgeon.

The Wild were able to put the game to bed four minutes into the third period when Jared Spurgeon was able to score a power-play goal to make it 4-2.

Wild defenseman Jared Spurgeon had a goal and an assists in the win, while fellow blue liner Ryan Suter finished the game with two assists. Minnesota ended up stopping 18 of the Blackhawks' 20 shots on goal.

Corey Crawford had his second straight below-average game for Chicago by saving just 27 of the 31 shots he faced for an .871 save percentage.
