The Los Angeles Kings will be heading out on the road on Thursday night to take on the Vancouver Canucks in a game between two of the better power plays in the Western Conference. In early November, the Kings were able to rout the Canucks 5-1 on home ice.

On Tuesday night, the Kings were able to come back in the third period against the Edmonton Oilers, but they ended up losing 3-2 in the shootout. They lost despite going 1-for-3 on the power play and outshooting the Oilers 39-21 on the night.

Through 38 games this season, the Kings have one of the better defensive teams and are in the top 10 in power play percentage. Center Jeff Carter has a team-high 28 points by notching 10 goals and 18 assists on the year. Goaltender Jonathan Quick is 15-9-7 with three shutouts, a .920 save percentage and a 2.28 GAA.

The Canucks used a two-goal second period to help them defeat the Vancouver Canucks 3-1 on the road on Tuesday. Veteran goalie Ryan Miller was excellent in that win, stopping 31 of the 32 shots he faced.

Vancouver's offense has been pretty consistent this season and are currently averaging right around three goals per game. Miller now has a solid 19-7-1 on the year with three shutouts, a 2.50 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
