In the third of four meetings between the Los Angeles Kings and the Edmonton Oilers, the Kings were able to get the 4-2 away win, which was their seventh in a row at the time. The Oilers will be hoping to win on Thursday to avoid being swept by Los Angeles in the season series.

The score actually makes the game seem closer than it really was. The Kings were able to get 50 shots on goal while holding the Oilers to just 27. The only reason it wasn't a blowout was because Edmonton's goalie, Ben Scrivens, made multiple amazing stops throughout the game and kept it from getting out of hand.

The Kings were able to get off to a fast start in the first period, scoring a minute and a half in when Jeff Carter was able to beat Scrivens off of a pass from Tyler Toffoli. The Oilers were able to answer later in the period, through Taylor Hall's 22nd of the season.

The third period is when the Kings took off, scoring three goals without an answer from the Oilers. Alec Martinez got the first one, followed by Carter's second of the game, and then Trevor Lewis made it 4-1 going into the final period.

Sam Gagner was able to get Edmonton their second goal of the game early in the third period, but that's all they could get the rest of the way.

Scrivens ended up with 46 saves in the loss.
