The Anaheim Ducks did what they needed to do to even their series with the Los Angeles Kings at 2-2 by beating them Saturday night in Game 4 by a score of 2-0.

The Ducks were able to put together a strong first period and got a goal from Devante Smith-Pelly 16 minutes into the period and a power-play goal from Ryan Getzlaf about three minutes later. The rest of the game was all about good defense and excellent goaltending to help the Ducks get the win.

Getzlaf was the offensive hero for the Ducks with his goal and assist, while Corey Perry contributed with two assists in the win.

Anaheim took a chance by giving the start to John Gibson, who was making his NHL debut in the game. The Ducks hadn't gotten much from their top two netminders, Jonas Hiller and Frederik Andersen, in the previous two games, so they were hoping to get production from Gibson like he showed in his three regular season starts.

The Ducks got just what they wanted as Gibson looked like an elite goalie the entire game. The 20-year-old goaltender was able to stop all 28 of the Kings' shots and showed why he is considered one of the best prospects in the league.

Kings' goalie Jonathan Quick only made nine saves and let two get past him before he was replaced by backup Martin Jones. Jones saved the only three shots that he faced in the game.
