The Los Angeles Kings will meet up with the Anaheim Ducks in the Western Conference semifinals after both teams were able to win hard-fought series in the first round.

The Kings completed an improbably comeback in their series against the San Jose Sharks after going down 3-0 in the series. They won their last four games against the Sharks, with the final victory coming on Wednesday when they won 5-1.

Anze Kopitar has been the star of the playoffs so far and was a huge reason for the Kings making that dramatic comeback. He finished the series with four goals and a league-leading 10 points in the first round.

The Ducks didn't have as tough of a time getting through their first round series against the Dallas Stars, but they needed overtime in Game 6 to move on to the next round. The Ducks did have a 2-0 lead early in the series, but the Stars came back and tied it at two wins apiece before the Ducks were able to win the final two games.

Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf and right win Corey Perry had seven points apiece in the first round, while Nick Bonino chipped in with three goals and an assist. Goalie Frederik Andersen started all six games for the Ducks in the first round, but he will need to improve his .892 save percentage if he wants to stay in net for their series against the Kings.
