In Game 6 of the Western Conference semifinals on Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Kings were able to beat the Anaheim Ducks 2-1 at home to force a seventh and final game on Friday.

The game was filled with great defense by both teams with the Kings having the slight 23-22 shot advantage. There were a combined nine power play opportunities, but neither team could convert one in the game.

The first goal of the contest was scored midway through the first period when defenseman Jake Muzzin was able to score his third of the playoffs. Anze Kopitar and Marian Gaborik had assists on the play.

Trevor Lewis was able to double the Kings' lead 14 minutes into the second period with his fourth goal of the postseason, but Kyle Palmieri would get one back for the Ducks a minute and a half later off of an assist by Nick Bonino. Anaheim had a few chances to tie it, but the Kings kept them at bay the rest of the way to force Game 7.

Jonathan Quick didn't have too much work to do in net for the Kings, but he stepped up when they needed him to and finished with 21 saves on the night. Ducks goalie John Gibson saved 21 of the Kings' 23 shots.
