Sunday night, the Florida Panthers will make a stop at the Honda Center to take on the Anaheim Ducks.

The Florida Panthers will begin a 4 game road trip with their Sunday meeting against the Ducks. On Friday night, the Panthers ended a 3 game homestand with a 4 -3 shootout loss to the New York Islanders. Florida opened the scoring midway through the 1^st period with a Jimmy Hayes goal that gave them a 1 - 0 lead. But the Islanders took over and scored 2 in the 2^nd and one more early in the 3^rd to take a 3 -1 lead. Florida mounted a nice rally that saw them score 2 goals in the 3rd period to send the game to overtime. After a scoreless overtime period, the Panthers equaled the Islanders first score in the shootout but couldn't hit the back of the net after that. The Panthers will have to get on the board early and often against the Ducks because if they fall behind early, they might not get the chance to rally back.

The Anaheim Ducks will make the short trip home after playing the Los Angeles Kings at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon. That game will cap a home and home set against the Kings. Although the ducks lead the Western Conference's Pacific Division, they have been up and sown in recent games. And as tight as the division is, they can't afford to take too many losses right now. If Anaheim brings that tough defense that has kept them on top of the division to this one, it will be hard for Florida's struggling offense to get anything going.
