The Edmonton Oilers, who currently have the worst defense in the NHL, will visit the New York Rangers on Sunday night.
The Oilers and the Rangers each had one win in their two-game series during the regular season last year. Edmonton won their early matchup 2-1, but the Rangers got the last laugh by blowing out the Oilers 5-0 later in the season.
Rangers right wing Rick Nash has faced the Oilers 36 times in his career, scoring 14 goals and assisting on 13 others. Veteran Martin St. Louis has two goals and 10 assists in 17 games against New York, while netminder Henrik Lundqvist has a 1-1-2 record in four games against them with a .909 save percentage and a 2.53 GAA.
On Friday night, the Oilers finally picked up their first November win by defeating the Buffalo Sabres 3-2 on the road. They dominated possession in that win and ended up outshooting Buffalo 52-21 on the night.
The Oilers have scored 2.5 goals this season while giving up 3.5 goals per game to their opponents. Left wing Taylor Hall is their one offensive standout so far by scoring six goals and assisting on four others. Center Mark Arcobello has scored four goals and accumulated six points, while goalie Ben Scrivens has a 4-6-0 record this season with one shutout and a GAA of 3.11.
