Tuesday night, the Edmonton Oilers will journey to the American Airlines Center to face the Dallas Stars.

The Edmonton Oilers will start a 3 game road trip with a stop in Dallas.  In their last game at home on Saturday night, the Oilers were blown out 7 – 1 by the Chicago Blackhawks.  Edmonton was out of that game almost from the start as Chicago scored 3 goals in the 1st to take a 3 - 0 lead. The Blackhawks followed up those 3 goals with 3 more in the 2nd to go up 6 -0 to start the final period.  David Perron helped the Oilers avoid a shutout with his goal midway through the 3rd but the Blackhawks added one last goal to put an exclamation point on the rout. The loss was the 6th straight for the Oilers and the 9th in the last 11 games.   A better effort from the Oilers will definitely be needed on Tuesday if they want to end their slide.

The Dallas Stars will play the 4th game of a 5 game home stand when they take on the Oilers.   Dallas got their 2nd win in a row Saturday night as they held on to beat the Los Angeles Kings 5 - 4. Dallas jumped out to a 3 -0 lead in the 1st after a goal by John Klingberg and two by Jamie Benn.   Tyler Seguin put Dallas up 4 – 0 early in the 2nd but Los Angeles tried to mount a comeback.  Two quick goals made it a 4 - 2 game but Jason Demers extended the lead to 5 -2.  Los Angeles had a 3rd goal to end the 2nd and another in the 3rd but it was too late for the Kings.   Dallas hasn’t been that great in recent weeks but they will have a decent chance to extend their win streak on Tuesday.
