The Detroit Red Wings, who have won two out of their last three road games, will be visiting the New Jersey Devils on Friday night. Last season, the Red Wings were able to defeat the Devils in two out of their three meetings.

On Wednesday, the Red Wings won their second straight game by defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-2 at home. Center Pavel Datsyuk was the top star in that win by scoring two of his team's five goals.

Through 22 games, the Red Wings are in the top 15 in the league in both goals scored and goals against. Veteran left wing Henrik Zetterberg has been their top offensive threat by scoring five goals and providing 14 assists. Netminder Jimmy Howard has a 10-4-4 record through 18 starts with one shutout, a .920 save percentage and a 2.09 GAA.

On Tuesday night, Devils lost their second game in a row when the Vancouver Canucks shut them out 2-0 on the road. They didn't have any power play opportunities in that loss, and they only ended up with 20 shots on goal.

The Devils are currently eighth in the league in power play percentage, but they are near the bottom of the league in scoring with 2.4 goals per game. Goalie Cory Schneider has a 9-9-2 record on the season with a 2.56 GAA and two shutouts. Veteran Jaromir Jagr has three goals and he leads the team with 13 points through 22 games.
