Tuesday night, the Detroit Red Wings will try to steal a win on the other side of the border as they take on the Montreal Canadiens.

The Detroit Red Wings will enter the Bell Centre fresh off a home and home sweep against the Toronto Maple Leafs.  After the Red Wings blew out the Leafs 4 - 1 in Toronto on Friday night, they turned their attention to their home ice for Saturday’s game. That game wouldn’t be as easy for the Red Wings though.  Toronto put up more fight than they did in the previous game and Detroit couldn’t solve the Maple Leaf defense during the 3 periods of regulation.  But they did find a chink in the Toronto armor during overtime and with a Henrik Zetterberg goal, they escaped with a 1 – 0 win.  The Red Wings will need more than a goal to get past a tough Montreal Canadiens club.

The Montreal Canadiens have been on a nice roll to start the season and will look to continue their solid play as they host the Red Wings.  In their last game on Saturday night, the Canadiens held on to beat the Colorado Avalanche 3 – 2.  Montreal went down 1 – 0 in the 1st but came back strong in the 2nd.  The Canadiens scored 3 in the 2nd to take a 3 -1 lead into the 3rd.  Colorado scored a goal late to make the game interesting but Montreal still came out ahead.  With both of these teams heating up the ice in recent games, the difference in this one could come down to which offense stays hot and which one doesn’t.
