On Sunday, the Detroit Red Wings will try to add another win to their 5-3-3 road record when they visit the Carolina Hurricanes.

During the 2013-14 season, the Red Wings found a way to win two out of their three games against the Hurricanes. All three of those games were decided by one goal, with the final game resulting in a 3-2 Detroit win on the road.

Red Wings center Pavel Datsyuk has notched three goals and five assists in his 14 games against the Hurricanes, while veteran Henrik Zetterberg has accumulated 15 points in his 11 career games against them. Goalie Jimmy Howard has faced Carolina four times in his career, going 2-2-0 with a .930 save percentage and a 1.99 GAA.

The Hurricanes just couldn't get their shots to hit the back of the net in their game against the Washington Capitals on Thursday night and ended up losing 2-1 at home. They didn't have any power play opportunities in that loss and scored just one goal on 30 shots.

Through 25 games, the Hurricanes are near the bottom of the league in scoring with just 2.3 goals per game. Veteran center Eric Staal is currently tied for the team lead in points with 15, but he also has a plus/minus of -9. Goalie Cam Ward has an 8-8-1 record through 17 starts with one shutout, a 2.48 GAA and a .912 save percentage.
