The Detroit Red Wings will be going on the road on Monday night to take on the Boston Bruins in a game between two solid defenses from the Atlantic Division. The Red Wings and the Bruins have already played each other twice this season, with both teams picking up one win.

The Red Wings scored a game-tying goal in the third period of their game against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday and went on to win 3-2 on overtime. Their penalty kill was excellent in that win, holding the Senators goalless on their five chances with the extra man.

Through 36 games this season, the Red Wings have one of the better power plays in the league and have given up just over two goals per game. Veteran left wing Henrik Zetterberg is having another solid season by notching eight goals and 24 assists. Goaltender Jimmy Howard is 14-5-7 with two shutouts and a very good .922 save percentage.

On Saturday night, the Bruins had their two-game winning streak snapped when the Columbus Blue Jackets blew them out 6-2 on the road. Boston was outshot 30-28 in that loss and ended up going 0-for-3 on their power play opportunities.

So far this season, the Bruins have scored less than 2.5 goals per game and have one of the worst power plays in the Eastern Conference. Goalie Tuukka Rask has gone 13-10-3 this year with a 2.59 GAA and a .910 save percentage.
