The Dallas Stars will be heading out on the road on Wednesday to face the Vancouver Canucks in a game that will feature two of the better offenses in the Western Conference. In their first game against each other this season, the Stars were able to rout the Canucks 6-3 on home ice.

The Stars scored two goals in the first and second period of their game against the New Jersey Devils last Saturday to help them pull off a 4-3 home win. They outshot the Devils 36-31 in that win and also ended up with a 40-27 faceoff advantage.

Through 29 games, the Stars are one of the better scoring teams in the Eastern Conference, but they are dead last in goals against by giving up 3.5 goals per game. Center Tyler Seguin has been one of the best offensive players in the league this year by notching 23 goals and 15 assists. Goalie Kari Lehtonen has an 11-7-5 record with one shutout and a .902 save percentage.

Over the weekend, the Canucks lost their fourth straight game when the New York Rangers blew them out 5-1 at home. They lost despite not committing any penalties in that game and finishing with a 30-23 shooting advantage.

So far this season, the Canucks are in the top five in penalty kill percentage by stopping opposing power plays 86.1 percent of the time. Veteran goalie Ryan Miller has been solid this season by going 16-7-0 with a 2.69 GAA.
