The Dallas Stars will be trying to end their two-game losing skid on Tuesday night when they go up against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Stars and the Maple Leafs each picked up a win in their two-game regular season series last year.

The Stars had one of their worst defensive games of the season last Saturday when the Colorado Avalanche beat them 5-2 on the road. They only had 24 shots on goal in that loss while going 0-for-3 on the power play.

The Stars have scored 2.9 goals per game this season, but their defense has also given up 3.5 goals per game. Through 24 games, center Tyler Seguin has been one of the best players in the league by notching 18 goals and 13 assists. Netminder Kari Lehtonen is now 9-5-5- with a 3.03 GAA and a .905 save percentage.

The Maple Leafs have now won three out of their last four games after blowing out the Washington Capitals 6-2 at home. Toronto was excellent with the extra man in that game, scoring on three out of their four power play chances.

So far this year, the Maple Leafs are in the top five in the league in scoring with 3.3 goals per game. Veteran right wing Phil Kessel has scored 11 goals in 23 games this season and has a team-high 25 points.
