Friday night, the Dallas Stars will travel to the Prudential Center to take on the New Jersey Devils.

The Dallas Stars will come into the Prudential Center fresh off a 6 - 3 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.   The Stars played some of their best hockey of the season in that game.  Dallas scored early and often as they opened up a 3 -0 lead in the 1st period.  The Stars extended the lead to 5 - 0 in the 2nd and although the Canucks tried to make a late push, their efforts were futile.  Dallas was extremely efficient with their shots on goal and if they can repeat that effort against the Devils, they could pick up another win.

The New Jersey Devils took a 4 -3 overtime loss against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night.  And what made the loss even worse was the fact that the Devils experienced a substantial collapse late in the game.  After a 1 -1 tie after the 1st period, the Devils added a goal late in the 2nd and one early in the 3rd to go up 3 - 1.  That lead evaporated after New York scored two in the 3rd to send the game into overtime where they got the game winner just 2:42 in.  The Devils were great (3 for 5) on the power play but they allowed the Rangers to go 2 for 3 on their power play.  They outshot the Rangers and won the face-off battle.  But if they hadn’t faded late they could have won. New Jersey will definitely look to avoid another late collapse in this one.
