The Dallas Stars will play their first road game of the season on Saturday night when they face the Nashville Predators. The Stars were able to win three of their five games against the Preds last year.

In their first game of the season, Dallas ended up losing to the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on their home ice. The Stars did outshoot the Blackhawks 34-26 in that game, but they were only able to score once on their six power-play chances.

Defenseman Trevor Daley and center Cody Eakin were the two goalscorers for the Stars in that opening game. Center Jason Spezza had an assist in the game, but he finished with a minus-1. Goalie Kari Lehtonen had a good game in the losing effort by stopping 24 of the 26 shots he faced.

Nashville opened up their campaign at home against the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night and ended up scoring three goals in the third period to pull off a 3-2 win. Nashville's strategy was clearly to shoot as much as they possibly could as they were able to outshoot Ottawa 37-20 in the win.

Centers Paul Gaustad and Filip Forsberg had two assists apiece for the Predators in that win over the Senators, while Eric Nystrom had a goal and was a plus-2. Goaltender Pekka Rinne only faced 20 shots and finished with 18 saves.
