On Thursday night, the Dallas Stars will try to snap their three-game losing streak when they visit the Detroit Red Wings. Last year, the Stars and the Red Wings split their two-game regular season series.

On Tuesday, the Stars played very poorly on the defensive end of the ice and were beaten 5-3 by the Toronto Maple Leafs on the road. They had five chances on the power play in that game, but they came away with no goals from those opportunities.

The Stars are currently in the bottom five in the league in goals allowed by giving up 3.5 goals per game. Left wing Jamie Benn has scored eight goals this season and he is tied for the team lead in assists with 15. Goalie Kari Lehtonen has a 9-6-5 record this season with a 3.13 GAA and a .903 save percentage.

The Red Wings had their four-game winning streak come to an end on Tuesday when they Florida Panthers beat them 4-3 in Detroit. They lost that game despite finishing with a huge 41-31 shooting advantage over the Panthers.

So far this year, the Red Wings have been able to score three goals per game while allowing just 2.5 goals per game. Left wing Henrik Zetterberg has five goals and 19 assists this season, and he currently leads the Red Wings in points with 24.
