Tuesday night, the Dallas Stars take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Dallas will be looking for their first victory as Columbus seeks to remain undefeated.

The Dallas Stars took on the Nashville Predators last Saturday and they started out great. It was how they finished that bred concern among the Dallas faithful.  An Antoine Roussel goal in the 1st gave Dallas the lead.  But that was the only lead that they would have. Nashville tied the game late in the 2nd and took over completely in the 3rd.  Their 3 goals in the final period put the game out of reach for the Stars.  Dallas will bring a 0-1-1 record into this game and it isn’t hard to see why.  They have had trouble scoring and they can’t keep their opponents from scoring.  That combination is a sure way to prevent victories.  And it is no way to play a team like the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Columbus comes in the winner of their first two games in convincing fashion.  They just beat the New York Rangers last Saturday by a 5 - 2 margin.  In that game, Columbus started strong and finished strong.  They opened with two 1st period goals.  After allowing a goal in the 2nd, they regained their two goal lead with another goal and posted 2 more in the 3rd to seal the victory despite a 2nd New York goal.  Columbus just seemed too quick and too hungry for the Rangers. And If the Blue Jackets play as hard Tuesday night as they did on Saturday night, the Stars may be looking at another mark in the loss column.
