The Chicago Blackhawks showed their supremacy the last time they faced the Dallas Stars by beating them 6-2 back in December. Patrick Sharp, who came into the game with two goals and four assists against the Stars on the season, scored two more goals to help Chicago to the easy win.

It didn't take long at all for Chicago to get on the board, as Mike Kostka scored for the away team just two minutes into the game. Patrick Kane followed that up with his 17th goal of the season 10 minutes later.

The second period was even worse for the Stars. Brandon Saad led off the scoring for the Blackhawks, followed by a power-play goal from Sharp. Sharp would score again three minutes later to give the visitors a 5-0 lead. Antoine Roussel got one back for the hosts, but that was quickly answered by Saad near the end of the period.

Roussel would score the only goal in the third period, but it was far too late as Chicago cruised the rest of the way for the 6-2 victory. Roussel was the lone bright spot for the Stars in an otherwise forgettable team performance.

Chicago goalie Antti Raanta, who started in place of the injured Corey Crawford, had 27 saves in the game. Kari Lehtonen and Dan Ellis had a combined 27 saves on 33 shots faced for the Stars.
