On Friday night, the Dallas Stars will be going up against the Calgary Flames, who are currently on a six-game losing streak. During the 2013-14 season, the Stars were able to win two of their three games against the Flames.

The Stars have won three out of their last four games after shutting out the Vancouver Canucks 2-0 on the road on Wednesday. Their penalty kill was very good in that game, stopping all four of the Canucks' power play opportunities.

Calgary's struggles continued on Tuesday night when the New York Rangers were able to easily beat them 5-2 in Calgary. Backup goalie Karri Ramo was not on his game in that loss, giving up four goals on just 13 shots faced before being removed from the game.

Through their first 33 games this season, the Flames have scored 2.8 goals per game, but they have also given up 2.7 goals per game. Starting netminder Jonas Hiller is currently 9-9-1 on the year with one shutout, a 2.42 GAA and a .914 save percentage. Defenseman Mark Giordano has accumulated a team-high 31 points this season and has a plus/minus of +13.
