Anaheim opens up their postseason run as big favorites against Dallas but the Stars actually lead the season series 2-1. Home ice will help the Ducks but the Stars have legitimate hopes of upsetting the top seed in the West.

Dallas flip-flopped wins and losses to close out the final 8 games of the year but it was enough to hold off Phoenix as the 8th team into the postseason in the Western Conference. Their 91 points was 25 less than Anaheim's but Dallas was still able to capture two games from the Ducks this year, including one at the Honda Center. The Stars are the only team in the postseason in either conference that is under .500 on the road in 2013/14 with a record of 17-20-4.

Anaheim aims to get out of the conference quarterfinals for the first time in their last two appearances. They were bounced in round one by the Red Wings last season and lost to the Predators to open the playoffs in 2011. Home ice will obviously help the Ducks in round one as they've posted a 29-8-4 record in Anaheim.

Dallas captured a huge upset win in their last matchup with Anaheim, a 2-1 win on February 1st as +177 road underdogs. Prior to that the Stars also won at home on November 26th, notching a 6-3 win in a dead even -104 line. Anaheim got their only win against Dallas early on in the year with a 6-3 win on October 26th as -220 favorites.
