On Thursday night, the Columbus Blue Jackets will be looking to extend their three-game winning streak when they visit the Washington Capitals. In early November, the Capitals picked up a 4-2 home win over the Blue Jackets.

The Blue Jackets continued their hot streak on Tuesday when they were able to defeat the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in overtime. They were solid with the extra man in that win, scoring on two of their four power play opportunities.

So far this season, the Blue Jackets have struggled in most areas, but they do have a top five power play by scoring on 23 percent of their opportunities with the extra man. Left wing Nick Foligno has a team-high 11 goals on the year and is second on the team with 24 points. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has won nine of his 18 starts and currently owns a .917 save percentage.

On Tuesday night, the Capitals were able to pick up their third win in a row when they defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 5-3 on the road. They scored on one of their two power play chances while also finishing with a 27-22 advantage at the faceoff dot.

The Capitals have been able to score 2.9 goals per game this season while also scoring on 28.8 percent of their power plays. Center Nicklas Backstrom has quietly had a solid season by notching five goals and 22 assists in 27 games.
