The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to keep their perfect penalty kill percentage intact on Thursday night when they face the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks were able to beat the Blue Jackets in both of their meetings last season.

The Blue Jackets were able to put 40 shots on goal in their game against the Ottawa Senators last Saturday, but they could only score two goals and lost 3-2 on the road. They didn't take advantage of their power play opportunities, going 0-for-3 with the extra man.

Left wing Nick Foligno has two goals and five assists for the Blue Jackets this season, and he has the best plus/minus on the team with a +3. Center Ryan Johansen is tied for the team lead with four assists to go along with his three goals. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky has a 3-2-0 record with a .931 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA.

On Tuesday, the Sharks lost their second game in a row when they were beaten 5-3 by the Boston Bruins on the road. They did outshoot the Bruins 34-33 in the game, but they also failed to stop them on two of their three power play opportunities.

The Sharks' best player through their first seven games has been left wing Patrick Marleau, who has four goals and five assists already. Defenseman Brent Burns is near the top of the league with seven assists to go along with his one goal. Netminder Antti Niemi has a 2.70 GAA with a .920 save percentage.
