Columbus aims to stay afloat in their Eastern Conference playoff run with back to back games against the New York hockey teams. The Blue Jackets play the Rangers on Friday before the afternoon tilt with the Islanders on Sunday. The Islanders on the other hand are one of the four worst teams in the league but haven't been playing overly horrendous lately.

The Blue Jackets are 7-3 in their last 10 which has enabled them to move into 7th place in the Eastern Conference playoff push. Sundays game against the Islanders could have Columbus on tired skates as it will be their 6th in 10 days with two shootouts over that span. That being said the Blue Jackets have been solid on the road lately, winning 4 of their last 5.

One of the many reasons the Islanders have struggled this season is their inability to defend the home ice. New York is only 10-18-8 at home and actually has more road wins in 2013/14. Still the Islanders have a respectable 4 wins in their last 10 games and will have had 4 full days of rest before Sunday's game.

Columbus is hoping for a replay of the last time the teams met, a 5-2 beat down by the Blue Jackets. With the game tied 2-2 entering the 3rd period Columbus notched 3 goals in the final session to pay out backers of the -133 moneyline.
