The Columbus Blue Jackets will be visiting the Florida Panthers on Thursday night in a game between two of the lowest-scoring offenses in the NHL. The Blue Jackets and the Panthers are both near the bottom of their respective divisions right now.

The Blue Jackets faced these same Panthers on Monday night and were able to pull off a 2-1 home win to snap their six-game losing streak. They won that game despite going 0-for-2 on the power play and being outshot 25-23.

So far this season, the Blue Jackets have struggled in most areas, but they are in the top 10 in the league in power play percentage. Left wing Nick Foligno has had a good start to the campaign by notching 10 goals and 12 assists in his 23 games. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is now 6-8-1 on the year with a 2.89 GAA and a .910 save percentage.

On Tuesday night, the Panthers scored two goals in the third period to help them defeat the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 on the road. They won that game despite being outshot 41-31 and only winning 30 of the 70 faceoffs.

Through 23 games, the Panthers are in the top 10 in goals against by only giving up 2.4 goals per game to their opponents. Defenseman Aaron Ekblad has had a pretty good start to the year by scoring four goals and providing nine assists.
