The Columbus Blue Jackets will look to continue their hottest stretch of the season when they go up against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night. In their first meeting this year, the Red Wings were able to blow out the Blue Jackets 5-0 in Columbus.

On Saturday, the Blue Jackets won their fifth straight game by beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3 in the shootout. They were outshot 36-27 in that win, but they also held the Penguins scoreless on their four power play opportunities.

So far this season, the Blue Jackets have one of the better power plays in the league by scoring on 23.1 percent of their chances with the extra man. Left wing Nick Foligno currently leads the team in goals with 14, while center Ryan Johansen has a team-high 18 assists.

The Red Wings have now lost three straight games after the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated them 4-1 on the road on Saturday night. They played well on the power play in that game, but they also ended up being outshot 41-28.

The Red Wings have been able to score 2.9 goals per game this year while allowing just 2.4 goals per game. Veteran winger Henrik Zetterberg has scored five goals this season and leads Detroit in points with 26. Netminder Jimmy Howard is now 13-5-6 on the year with one shutout, a .918 save percentage and a 2.14 GAA.
