The Colorado Avalanche, who are 6-6-5 on the road this season, will be visiting the St. Louis Blues on Monday night. The Blues have been able to win two out of their three games against the Avs this season.

On Saturday night, the Avalanche had their three-game winning streak come to an end when the Chicago Blackhawks beat them 5-2 in Colorado. They didn't do well when on the penalty kill in that loss, allowing the Blackhawks to score on two of their four power play opportunities.

The Avs are currently near the bottom of the league in scoring, goals against and power play percentage. Their best offensive player has been veteran Alex Tanguay, who now has 12 goals and 12 assists in 33 games played. Netminder Semyon Varlamov has a 5-6-5 record with two shutouts, a .913 save percentage and a 3.01 GAA.

The Blues lost their fourth consecutive game on Saturday night when the Dallas Stars came into town and beat them 4-3. St. Louis lost despite winning the majority of the faceoffs and outshooting the Stars 33-24 on the night.

Through 35 games this year, the Blues are in the top five in the league in power play percentage and they are scoring right around three goals per game. Goalie Jake Allen has an 11-4-2 record with two shutouts and a .903 save percentage.
