On Saturday night, the Colorado Avalanche will go on the road to take on the Philadelphia Flyers, who have one of the best offenses in the NHL. Last season, the Flyers and the Avs each picked up a win in their two-game regular season series.

On Thursday, the Avalanche gave up a late third-period goal to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but they did come away with a 4-3 win in the shootout. They won that game despite going 0-for-3 on the power play and being outshot 38-34.

The Avs have only scored 2.4 goals per game this season while giving up 2.9 goals per game. Center Nathan MacKinnon has four goals and six assists through 15 games, but he also has a plus/minus of -6. Goalie Semyon Varlamov has made 10 starts and is 2-4-4 with a 2.75 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

The Flyers won their second game in a row on Thursday when they beat the Florida Panthers 4-1 on home ice. Center Sean Couturier had a solid game for the Flyers by scoring one goal and assisting on another in the win.

Through 13 games, the Flyers are near the top of the league in scoring with 3.2 goals per game. Right wing Jakub Voracek has six goals and he leads the team with 19 points. Netminder Steve Mason has made eight starts this year and has a 2-4-1 record with no shutouts and a .911 save percentage.
