On Tuesday night, the Colorado Avalanche will try to keep their hot stretch going when they visit the Arizona Coyotes. Last season, the Avs were able to win two out their three games against the Coyotes.

The Avalanche have now won three out of their last four games after beating the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 on Saturday night. Center Nathan MacKinnon had an excellent game in that win, providing assists on three out his team's four goals.

Through 21 games, the Avalanche are in the top five in the NHL in penalty kill percentage by stopping 88.3 percent of the power plays that they have faced. MacKinnon now has five goals for Colorado and he leads the team with 16 points. Goalie Semyon Varlamov has a 4-5-4 record on the season with a 2.95 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

On Sunday night, the Coyotes lost for the third time in their last four games when the Anaheim Ducks beat them 2-1 on the road. Arizona was 0-for-3 on the power play in that loss, and they ended up being outshot 30-27.

The Coyotes are only scoring 2.4 goals per game this season while allowing opposing teams to score three goals per game against them. Defenseman Keith Yandle has three goals through 22 games and leads the team in points with 15. Backup goalie Devan Dubnyk is 5-0-1 on the season with a 2.34 GAA and a .926 save percentage.
