Saturday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will take the ice at the Air Canada Centre and face the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Chicago Blackhawks will come into Toronto after battling the Ottawa Senators on Thursday night.  The game went all the way to a shootout before the Blackhawks came away with a 5 – 4 victory.  The teams played a tight game the entire way with momentum gradually going back and forth.  Ottawa led 1 – 0 early on, but Chicago quickly responded with 2 goals to take a 2 – 1 advantage going into the 2nd.  Ottawa scored the only goal of the 2nd period to knot things up once again.  That led to a wild 3rd period where each team scored twice more, with the Senators scoring the last goal to send the game into overtime.  Overtime didn’t break the tie, but Patrick Sharp did in the shootout to give the Blackhawks the win.  The Blackhawks might be able to catch a break against a potentially tired Maple Leafs team.

The Toronto Maple Leafs will be back home for Saturday night’s game but it will be after playing a Halloween night matchup in Columbus against the Blue Jackets on Friday.  The schedule had Toronto playing at home Tuesday night against the Buffalo Sabres, traveling to Columbus for Friday’s game and then coming back home for Saturday’s game.  The quick turnaround between the road and home could hamper a team.  There will be some fatigue for the Leafs and it will be interesting to see how they handle a solid Blackhawks squad.
