There's a world of difference between a 1-3 series and a 2-2 one and on Wednesday Patrick Kane ensured his team was headed back to St. Louis with a legit chance at getting out of round one and defending the Stanley Cup. Kane scored his second goal of the game 11:17 into OT and also added an assist as Chicago has momentum moving forward. Three of the four games in the series have went into an extra period and it's anybody's round to win moving forward.
Game 1 in St. Louis went 3 OT thanks to some late heroics by the Blues Jaden Schwartz. Chicago held a 3-2 lead as time was winding down in regulation before Schwartz lit the lamp with 1:45 left to force extra hockey. The teams played two periods of exciting playoff ice action before St. Louis' Alexander Steen scored just 0:25 into the 3rd OT to finally send the fans home.
Chicago let another opportunity to steal home ice slip out of their hands in game two as they allowed 2 goals with a combined :09 left in the 1st and 3rd as St. Louis forced another OT, where they won 5:50 into the 1st session as -109 favorites. The Blues won but still lost as captain David Backes was knocked out by a Brent Seabrook hit and hasn't played since.
The Blackhawks won their first game of the series as Corey Crawford stood on his head to block 34 shots in a 2-0 Chicago win as -144 favorites. Johnathon Toews and Marcus Kruger had the Chicago goals setting up Kane's heroics in game 4 where the Blackhawks won 4-3 as -143 favorites.
