The Chicago Blackhawks will be visiting the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night in a game between two of the better defensive teams in the league. The Blues won three out of their five games against the Blackhawks during the regular season last year.

The Blackhawks suffered their first regulation loss of the season on Thursday when they were beaten 3-2 by the Nashville Predators on the road. They had just one power play chance in that game and they made just two of their 32 shots on goal.

Chicago is currently in the top five in both goals against and penalty kill percentage. Left wing Patrick Sharp has two goals and is tied for the team lead in points with six, while Patrick Kane has three goals and two assists. Netminder Corey Crawford has made four starts for the Blackhawks and has an excellent 1.66 GAA and a .926 save percentage.

On Thursday, the Blues gave up three third-period goals to the Vancouver Canucks and ended up losing 4-1 at home. They gave up four goals in that game despite only allowing the Canucks to get 23 shots on goal.

The Blues' best offensive player so far this season has been left wing Jaden Schwartz, who has four goals and three assists. Goalie Brian Elliott has a 1-2-1 record, but he also has a solid 1.73 GAA and a .924 save percentage.
