The defending Stanley Cup Champions gave the Philadelphia Flyers and goalie Ray Emery no chance the last time these 2 teams played. The Chicago Blackhawks kept the pressure on all game long and took an impressive win of 7-2 over the Flyers. Jakub Voracek took a wrist shot at 12:31 on a power-play that helped Philadelphia to a 1-0 lead after one period. In the second period, Steve Downie grabbed another power-play goal and the last goal for the rest of the game for the Flyers. The period really belonged to the Blackhawks, who just outplayed the Flyers by scoring five goals in the second and adding two more in the third.
Duncan Keith had a power-play goal 43 seconds into the second. Andrew Shaw popped one in less than a minute later, and at the 5:27 mark, Michal Handzus scored. Kris Versteeg found the back of the net midway through the second, while Jonathan Toews also found a way to score 14:15 into the period to make it 5-2.
The third was just adding insult to injury. Just a little over one minute into the period, Brent Seabrook slammed one home and one more goal was added by Patrick Sharp, assisted by Patrick Kane and Marian Hossa. The final score is just a testament to how much of a force the Blackhawks will be again this year in the playoffs. Antti Raanta made 28 stops for Chicago.
