Thursday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will travel north to take on the Ottawa Senators.

The Chicago Blackhawks couldn’t get anything going in their Tuesday night matchup against the Anaheim Ducks and they ended up losing 1 - 0.   Chicago had been struggling in their last few games and the struggles didn’t end on the home ice.  The game was scoreless for the 1st and 2nd periods but Anaheim found a way to get a goal in the 3rd and that’s all it took.  The Blackhawks had their opportunities but they just couldn’t take advantage.  They were 0 for 3 on the power play and had 38 shots on goal.  Now the losers of 3 of their last 4, the Blackhawks will have a tough time turning it around against a solid Ottawa Senators team.

The Ottawa Senators will come into this one after rallying past the Columbus Blue Jackets 5 -2 on Tuesday night.  Columbus and Ottawa went back and forth early on.  It was a 1 -1 tie after the 1st and 2 -2 after the 2nd.  In the 3rd, the Senators took over.  Ottawa scored 3 times in the 3rd to pull away and seal the win.  Ottawa went 2 for 4 on the power play but they racked up 8 penalties.  With the Blackhawks struggling, the Senators will probably try to get in front early and stay there to secure the win.    But the Blackhawks will likely put up a fight as they try to reverse their slide.
